Tui Na

What is Tui Na?

Tui Na is extremely effective for muscular-skeletal conditions

Tuī Ná (pronounced “twee na”) is an ancient physical therapy and a very important component of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) alongside acupuncture, herbal prescriptions, medical Chi Kung, etc.

The term "Tui Na" was first seen during the Ming Dynasty and literally mean "push pull". Chinese Tui Na is a therapeutic approach guided by Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and was first used to treat pediatric disease through massage .

The Tui Na practitioner uses the hands to press on key points on the surface of the body (acupressure points and/or important physiological structures) to stimulate the body’s own natural healing process. When these points are stimulated, they release tension and promote the drainage, growth and repair within the tissue to bring about the body’s own natural healing process.

What can Tui Na treat?

While Tui Na is particularly effective for muscular condition like joint pain, backache, whip lash and frozen shoulder, it's effectiveness is not limited to these type of conditions. Tui Na is commonly used for headache, migraine, menstrual pain, small joint dislocations, martial art traumatic injuries, dance injuries, vertigo, poor muscle growth, problems with the endocrine system, insomnia, stress , constipation, diarrhoea, cold hands and feet, poor energy and many more.
